Feedback letter from Richard Gadd, Head of Centre, Richmond House

Dear John,

I write to thank you for the excellent training sessions that that the school recently enjoyed through LBMS. I have received an extremely enthusiastic response from all of the staff to both the de-escalation presentation and the practical restraint training.

My staff felt that the training on de-escalation really encompassed the day-to-day feelings and anxiety that we feel as teachers in the challenging environment of EBD schooling. It is great for the staff to hear that they are not the only people that experience these sorts of pressures in their professional life.

I can honestly say that we have referred to the session on many occasions as a focus of understanding the difficulties that our students experience and why they behave in the manner they do to such a caring, value based group of staff.

The practical session on restraint has given my staff a self-belief and confidence in the way that they approach challenge. It was excellent to see the staff interact with each other in such a positive and humorous way and we are now in the process of arranging our own practice sessions to improve our techniques.

I hope that we can get the opportunity to continue our training with your company as it has, in many ways, brought the staff group closer together. I look forward to our continued acquaintance.

Yours truly,

R. B. Gadd
